GRAND FORKS (AP) - A man arrested after an early morning standoff in Larimore is facing charges ranging from terrorizing to drunken driving.
Branden Kuck, 24, of Deer River, Minn., appeared in court Friday, where he was formally charged with seven counts, Assistant State's Attorney David Jones said. The charges include terrorizing, assault on a police officer, two counts of reckless endangerment, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, assault/domestic violence and drunken driving. Jones said the bail set by Judge Karen Braaten totals $16,000 cash or surety on all the counts. Kuck also is barred from contact with his wife, Jones said. A preliminary hearing was set for Dec. 1.
The sheriff's office said deputies were called to a recreational vehicle in Larimore shortly before 2 a.m., Thursday, after a report that Kuck struck his wife and fired a weapon. The woman fled the RV but two young sons remained inside, officials said.
