Members of the Commission on Education Improvement

Members of the North Dakota Commission on Education Improvement. The commission will have 10 voting members and three nonvoting members. Its first meeting has not been scheduled.

3 Voting members

State Officials: Lt. Gov. Jack Dalrymple, who will be chairman, and Wayne Sanstead, the state superintendent of public instruction.

Legislators: Rep. Rae Ann Kelsch, R-Mandan, chairwoman of the House Education Committee; Sen. Tim Flakoll, R-Fargo; Rep. David Monson, R-Osnabrock, the House assistant minority leader; and Sen. David O'Connell, D-Lansford, the Senate minority leader.

School officials: Paul Stremick, Grafton school superintendent; Warren Larson, Williston school superintendent; and Mark Lemer, who is the business manager for West Fargo schools. Another school superintendent, from a district offering kindergarten through 12th grade and with fewer than 220 students, has not been chosen.

3 Nonvoting members

The three nonvoting members will represent the North Dakota Education Association, a teachers' group; the North Dakota School Boards Association; and the North Dakota Council of Educational Leaders, which represents school administrators.
