FARGO (AP) - The attorney for a man charged in a kidnapping and shootout with police says his client will plead guilty.

Vincent Degidio Jr. of Moorhead, Minn., is charged in federal court with attempted murder of a police officer, kidnapping and weapons violations.

Defense attorney Christopher Lancaster says Degidio wants the plea and sentencing hearings at the same time. The plea agreement has not been filed.

Authorities say Degidio abducted a Fargo woman at gunpoint in April and forced her to drive to Moorhead. She got away and he was wounded in the shootout with police.
