DICKINSON (AP) - Stark County Sheriff Clarence Tuhy says authorities are still trying to determine a possible motive for a shooting incident in Dickinson that ended with two men hospitalized.

Fifty-nine-year-old Joel Wetzel was taken to a Bismarck hospital Tuesday after being shot by a police officer. He was reported in intensive care on Wednesday.

Authorities say Wetzel broke into a home and fired a rifle shot at 56-year-old Arnold Sickler, who was hit in the leg by bullet fragments. Sickler was reported in stable condition in a Dickinson hospital Wednesday.

Wetzel is charged with burglary and reckless endangerment.
