CAVALIER (AP) - A man is facing an attempted murder charge after a knife fight outside a bar in Drayton, authorities say.
Bail was set at $250,000 Monday for Wesley McPhail, 26, of Grand Forks, Pembina County officials said.
Authorities said McPhail got into a fight with Jordan Patterson of Drayton as the bar was closing early Sunday morning. Patterson had "multiple knife wounds to his face and abdomen areas," Pembina County Sheriff Brian Erovick said.
Patterson was in satisfactory condition Monday in Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, a nursing supervisor said. McPhail was treated for less serious injuries and then jailed.
Erovick said McPhail moved to Grand Forks from Mississippi about two years ago. He said Patterson has not been charged in the incident but the investigation continues.
