MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) - A Fargo man convicted in Minnesota's Clay County for molesting twin sisters more than 20 years ago will be sentenced based on guidelines at the time.
Jurors in Moorhead on Friday convicted 54-year-old Rodney Trudeau of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Clay County Attorney Brian Melton says Trudeau will be sentenced based on guidelines in place in the early 1980s. That means his prison term could be about eight years shorter than it would have been had the crimes occurred more recently.
Melton says he'll likely ask the judge to sentence Trudeau to a little more than 10 years in prison. Sentencing is set for October 20.
