The National Weather Service says five cities have topped rainfall records, one dating back to 1880.
Bismarck reported a record 1.37 inches of rain Wednesday, giving the city more than 3 inches so far this month. It topped an 1880 record of 0.86 inches.
The 30-year average for the city is 2.59 inches in June, considered the wettest month of the year.
The weather service says Jamestown's record 2.62 of rain Wednesday topped 0.77 inches set in 2001. Minot's 1.88 inches was 0.27 inch more than the 1977 record.
Dickinson reported 0 .65 of rain, just .01 inch above its 1966 mark and Williston's 0.94-inch total topped its 0.69 inch record set in 2003.
