JAMESTOWN (AP) - The Cavendish Farms potato processing plant near Jamestown that was damaged by an Aug. 31 fire plans to reopen in early October.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Vice President of Communications Mary Keith said the fire did not damage the plant's warehouse, and the company is filling all of its customers' orders.
She said production was also increased at other Cavendish plants.
Because the company is privately owned, it will not release damage estimates and repair costs.
Cavendish Farms is based in New Brunswick, Canada. The Jamestown plant has about 215 workers.
