GRAND FORKS (AP) - One mayoral candidate has two radio shows, and the other two may demand equal time.
Mayoral candidate Mike McNamara, a City Council member, has two shows that total four hours on KNOX radio in Grand Forks. He is running against the current Grand Forks mayor, Mike Brown, and Larry Humble in the race to be decided in June.
McNamara says he's not giving up his radio shows but he may shift his focus away from city issues to regional issues and take as much as three weeks off before the election.
"My show was never about me being on the bully pulpit," he said.
Brown said the station wants him to file an official protest before giving him equal air time.
"I look forward to my budding radio career," Brown said. He likely would use some of the time for commercials, he said.
Humble said he had not given the idea much thought, but he might want a question and answer session for callers.
