LANGDON (AP) - A Langdon man is accused of starving a dog to death in a kennel inside his apartment.
Derek Skjerva was to make his first court appearance on a misdemeanor charge of animal cruelty on Tuesday.
Cavalier County Chief Deputy Greg Fetsch says the dead dog was discovered by the apartment building owners. He says it was in a kennel, lying in its own feces.
Fetsch says Skjerva told him he did not like the dog and would feed it only every couple of days, because feeding it more often would be too costly.
