GRAND FORKS (AP) - A hotel is planned on University of North Dakota land near the Ralph Engelstad Arena.
Officials of UND and Sioux Falls, S.D.,-based developer Hegg Companies Inc., say they hope to finalize an agreement for a Courtyard by Marriott hotel by the end of July.
UND associate facilities director Rick Tonder won't discuss financial terms.
The hotel with about 100 rooms would be on the so-called Bronson Property near the hockey arena.
Tye Turman, Marriott's area vice president of lodging development, calls it a wonderful location.
Hegg Companies would develop, build and operate the hotel franchise. UND would retain ownership of the land.
