Suspect takes out anger on cruiser

A man arrested by Bismarck Police on Saturday night caused about $1,500 in damage to a police car.

Police responded to the Bismarck Motor Hotel on Saturday, where they encountered the 34-year-old man. He had reportedly been in an argument with another man and that man's girlfriend, and had thrown a glass bottle at the man, who suffered cuts. According to the police report, the 34-year-old man became combative upon his arrest, flailing around and kicking. He kicked the back passenger door area of the police car, causing the damage.

Sgt. Steve Kenner said the man was awaiting charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.

Minot convenience store thief sought

MINOT (AP) - Police here searched on Sunday for a man who robbed a convenience store of an undetermined amount of cash.

Authorities said a man walked into the Gas Stop shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday with a handgun, and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk was not hurt.

Two credit union leagues merge

The North Dakota Credit Union League has merged with its counterpart in South Dakota.

The new Mid-America Credit Union League will serve as a trade association for credit unions in both states. The headquarters will be in Bismarck.

A committee has been formed to search for someone to serve as president and chief executive officer.
