FARGO (AP) - Fargo police say more people are driving off without paying at the pump.
Police say they normally get reports of five or six gas drive-offs a month, but the total has jumped to 11 in July and 15 in August.
Police Sgt. Jeff Skuza says some of the thefts involved as much as $80, so the losses can add up quickly.
Police are encouraging service stations to have customers pay at the pump or prepay, to cut down on gas drive-offs.
