CROSSLAKE, Minn. - The family of Dru Sjodin is planning another search for the missing college student after raising more than $57,000 at a fund-raiser earlier this week.

Organizers said the auction and raffle Tuesday at the Zorbaz restaurant in Crosslake brought in more than $50,000. Suggested donations of $5 for admission also raised another $7,500 from the 500 people who attended.

Sjodin's mother, Linda Walker, lives in the central Minnesota town about 23 miles north of Brainerd.

Sjodin disappeared from the parking lot of a shopping mall in Grand Forks, N.D., more than a month ago. Several searches by police, volunteers and National Guard troops from North Dakota and Minnesota have been unsuccessful.

Alfonso Rodriguez Jr., a convicted rapist from Crookston, has been charged with kidnapping in Sjodin's disappearance. He remains in jail. Rodriguez has said through his attorney that he is innocent.

Private investigator and Sjodin family friend Bob Heales said another search will probably be organized for the middle of next month.

He said the search could happen sooner if Rodriguez will "develop some compassion and help us bring Dru home."

Grand Forks police said no searches by law enforcement officers were immediately scheduled.
