The last group from a North Dakota National Guard unit just returned from Afghanistan is coming home.
The soldiers are members of the 188th Air Defense Artillery Security Forces. Most of their unit returned home last week after going through processing in Fort Lewis, Wash. The 29 soldiers who stayed behind to handoff the mission are now returning to North Dakota, the Guard said Monday.
That last group will return Tuesday on commercial airline flights to Grand Forks, Fargo, Minot, Bismarck and Dickinson, and one to Reno, Nevada, the Guard said. The largest group, of 12, was scheduled to fly into Grand Forks on Tuesday morning, the Guard said.
The 29 soldiers arrived in Fort Lewis late last week.
