JAMESTOWN (AP) - Some community leaders here are trying to resurrect a quiet zone proposal for trains through town.
Fifty-five percent of Jamestown voters in June rejected the idea of a zone in which train whistles would be muted.
Former City Council member and Main Street-Downtown Association member Dwaine Heinrich said he believes the measure lost because voters had inaccurate information about the proposal and its cost.
Heinrich said one option being considered is gathering petition signatures to put a quiet zone measure back on the ballot in November.
