POWERS LAKE (AP) - Authorities say a car-pickup crash east of Powers Lake has killed a teenager riding in the car.

The Highway Patrol says 16-year-old Russell Nelson of Kenmare was pronounced dead at a Stanley hospital after the crash late Friday afternoon.

Authorities say the teen was riding in a car driven by 43-year-old Todd Nelson of Kenmare. The patrol says the car failed to stop at a stop sign on state Highway 50 and collided with a pickup, sending both vehicles into the ditch.

The patrol says Todd Nelson and the pickup driver, 54-year-old William Atol of Williston, were injured and were taken to the Stanley hospital.
