JAMESTOWN (AP) - The cause of a blaze that destroyed a Fire Department storage building and some equipment inside is still unknown.
Fire Chief Bert Gray said the Oct. 3 fire caused $317,000 in damage to a steel storage building and equipment used to respond to hazardous materials calls.
Gray said the building will be rebuilt in the spring. A $30,000 grant from the state is being used to replace some of the equipment, he said.
Gray has said much of the equipment that was lost in the fire was purchased with federal homeland security dollars.
