ROSEVILLE, Minn. (AP) - A man involved in a several-hour-long standoff with police in Roseville has been found dead in the lower level of his home.
Although police weren't revealing all the details of the incident, Roseville police Capt. Rick Mathwig says a SWAT team went into the house early Thursday.
Someone shot at them, and they returned fire before retreating from the home on Terrace Drive in the suburb of St. Paul.
Neighbors were evacuated while dozens of officers gathered at the scene. Over the next several hours authorities tried, but failed, to make contact with the man inside the house.
A team of SWAT officers went into the house again around noon and found the man's body in the lower level of the home.
Authorities are not releasing the man's name until his next-of-kin are notified. A medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
