FARGO (AP) - A federal appeals court has rejected the appeal of a woman convicted in a wide-ranging drug conspiracy known as Operation Speed Racer.
Soledad Ybarra was sentenced to nearly 10 years in prison after she pleaded guilty to charges of money laundering and conspiracy to unlawfully use communications facilities.
In her appeal, the former Moorhead, Minn., woman said U.S. District Judge Ralph Erickson should not have sentenced her as a member of the conspiracy.
The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected that claim, saying Ybarra "lacked credibility in denying involvement in the drug conspiracy and money laundering."
