The North Dakota National Guard's Army Medical Department has a new commander.
Col. Marvin Zerr has taken over from Col. Craig Lambrecht, who commanded the unit in 2007 and 2008.
Zerr, of Harvey, oversees about 50 military health professionals who provide various services to soldiers and airmen with the North Dakota National Guard.
Lt. Dan Murphy, a Guard spokesman, said it's typical for unit commanders to serve about two years. He said Lambrecht, who was named last fall as chief operating officer of MedCenter One health system, remains with the Guard.
