MINOT (AP) - A witness in the murder trial of Antonio Stridiron has testified he saw Stridiron shoot Joshua Velasquez after a fight last July.
Stridiron is charged with murder in the death of Velasquez, 27, in a Minot alley.
Another man, Bradley Davis, is being tried on an aggravated assault charge.
Rodney Robinson testified Tuesday that he had attended Davis' wedding on the afternoon of July 28 and that later, Davis and Velasquez got in a fight.
"It was a fist fight at first, and then some kind of rake comes into action," Robinson said.
Prosecutors have said Davis used a scythe, a weed-cutting tool with a long handle and a serrated blade, to assault Velasquez.
"He was swinging it at Josh, telling him to leave. Josh was stepping backwards, toward the street. From the street, he goes into the alley," Robinson testified.
Robinson referred to Davis by his nickname, Nino. Stridiron also is known as "Boyah."
Robinson said in the alley, "Nino swings it (the tool) and Josh went down.
"I turned and walked away," he said. "Then Boyah came out of the bushes and shot him."
Robinson said he was afraid and left.
