The socialist Democratic Party cannot be honest about socialized medicine. Every time Obama or another socialist opens his mouth, a lie comes out.
Socialists claim that socialized medicine will cut health care costs. Look at your shopping cart the next time you are in Wal-Mart. What would it look like if everything were free? When something is free, people use more. Health care is no exception. Ask hospital employees about abuses by Medicaid recipients. Consider the fraud and abuse that goes on with Medicare.
Governments cut their costs by paying less for services. Many doctors no longer accept Medicare patients because government reimburses them for less than what their services cost. In nations with socialized medicine, they have shortages of doctors because achievers pick another career or emigrate.
Nations with socialized medicine also cut costs by denying or delaying services. Chemotherapy treatments are many times reserved for the young or those with the highest chance of survival. People die waiting for CT scans. People wait for years for procedures like knee replacements. Nations with socialized medicine have a real healthcare crisis because government decides who gets treated and when.
Socialists claim that participation would be optional. If your employer provides your health insurance, they would likely unload this expense on the government. Everyone who works would pay into it. Some would pay with higher taxes, millions with their jobs as the economy shrinks and others with their lives or health.
The winners would be politicians who will gain more power. Twenty million illegal aliens (counted as part of the 47 million without health insurance) would get free health care.
The losers would be our nation's youth, who would have their birthright (a shot at the American Dream) taken away, in many cases by self-centered parents or parents who simply didn't speak up.
