I was watching the news and my grandson, Brandon, came in from outside and sat down and started watching it with me.
President Obama came on and Brandon said, "I wanted McCain to win."
It surprised me that he would even remember McCain's name from last year since he is only 6 years old and was in kindergarten last year.
I told him that Obama won the election and that he is our new president.
Brandon said, "Yeah, I know, but how do they do it?"
I asked him, "What do you mean, how do they do it?"
He said, "You know, how do they do it? How do they know who wins?"
I said, "Because we voted and Obama won."
Then, he said, "Grandma, I know that. But, how do they do it? Do they do rock, paper, scissors?"
He was so serious when he asked me and I tried to keep a straight face, but I just couldn't and started giggling.
It gave me such a visual. I could just picture Obama and McCain sitting across from each other doing rock, paper, scissors.
I don't think I will see an election in quite the same way ever again.
