I am 76 years old, I have voted in 14 elections for state respresentatives and presidential candidates. I have always found it somewhat difficult to feel comfortable with past performance of the participating candidates. Now I have reached a point where feeling comfortable is a joke. The feeling now is pure disgust, regardless of party affiliation. With our country's economy in such an unholy mess, the decisions they are making are frightening.
Handing out billions of taxpayer dollars, which they don't even have, yet with no control over how it will be spent.
Approving an appointment to the treasury department, one who didn't seem to think it was necessary to pay his taxes.
Closing Guantanamo Bay with no plan in place for what to do with its occupants.
Spending valuable time on global warming, a questionable subject at best, at a time when the majority of the country is experiencing the coldest winter on record.
I get so irritated every time I read or hear the news, I feel the country is on a direct course to socialism.
Wake up, people - socialism doesn't work. Even China has seen tremendous progress when they gave more individual freedom to the people and eased up on the socialized control.
I have witnessed, over the years, a steady decline in the government "of the people, by the people and for the people."
With all these professional politicians we stupidly keep electing, all we have is a group of greedy "first me" politicians that think of we the people, only as an afterthought.
We must, and I can't emphasize that enough, we must rid the country of all these political professionals by establishing term limits on both houses or one day, in the not too distant future, we will find ourselves without any control, living in a totally dictatorial socialistic country.
I don't have to mention names, we all know them.
