Say no to cap and trade

Well, cap and trade was pushed through the House.

When will the Senate vote on this massive 1,300-page bill that probably very few will read? Maybe when we're all distracted. On a weekend, when we don't have much time to call in and protest this.

Do we really want this for North Dakota and the nation? Who really profits from this? The government, Mr. Gore, G.E., Nancy Pelosi, (only to mention a few.)

This clean energy bill or cap and trade or carbon tax, or whatever you want to call it, will make us drive smaller cars (which is already coming into effect) pay higher electric bills, make us lose jobs and may even affect the cost of fuel and fertilizer for farming.

This will not help our oil, natural gas or coal industry, which has helped our state's budget so much and kept our state with low unemployment and a good economy.

So say "no" to cap and trade. Call or write Sen. Byron Dorgan and Sen. Kent Conrad, and say "no."

If these senators don't vote no on cap and trade, then tell them no when they are up for re-election again.

Sen. Dorgan's phone number is 202-224-2551, Sen. Conrad's is 202-224-2043. Or send an e-mail to senator@;dorgan.senate.gov or senator@;conrad.senate.gov.
