Disrespect shown to judge in Hsu case

I am reluctant to send comments to the Tribune, but with the continued turmoil between Dr. George Hsu, of Elgin, and the State Board of Medical Examiners, Iwould like to respond.

Not only do the patients of Hsu in Elgin and the surrounding communities disagree with Rolf Sletten, the executive secretary of the Board of Medical Examiners, but that the district judge also had to remind Sletten and the medical board, stating a second time that it was the ruling of the court that Hsu must have his medical license reinstated.

After reading the recent letters to the editor on this issue, I can only come to an opinion that Sletten does not like being told what to do.

An example is that Sonna Anderson, the district judge who presided over this case, was either not taken seriously about her first ruling or that Sletten and the medical board were unable to understand the court's decision. It took Anderson sending her ruling a second time for the board to "get it."

My question is: Why does a district judge need to send a ruling of a court decision to the state medical board a second time? That was a waste of Judge Anderson's valuable time and also put Hsu and all of his supportive patients in extended, undue stress.

I am disappointed in Rolf Sletten's disregard of the district court's initial ruling on this case. Respect is essential, that it be given to the court.Ibelieve the board ignored the court's first ruling.

Now, either out of pride or whatever on the medical board's part, the case is now being considered by Sletten and the board for appeal to the state Supreme Court.

I was a disinterested party in this case until Ifelt a judge was given disrespect by an attorney working for the medical board.
