I am writing in response to Lloyd Omdahl's column titled, "Why don't we arm the faculty, too?"
His rant against firearms and legal concealed weapons permit holders showed his anti-gun bias. Just think, Mr. Omdahl, if there had been a legal concealed weapons person at any of these senseless slaughters at Virginia Tech, Columbine, the immigration center at Binghamton, or any of the other places where a deranged gunman took out his anger on innocent people, maybe, just maybe, lives could have been saved. Even just one life would have been worth it, wouldn't it?
Concealed weapons permit holders are among the most law-abiding citizens in the country. I, for one, feel a whole lot safer knowing that there are citizenry in public carrying concealed firearms. My question is this: If they want to legally conceal weapons, "Why don't we arm the faculty, too?"
