I watched "60 Minutes" March 2 with tears in my eyes.
Hats off to the medical staff members who travel overseas and give treatment to people who own nothing. The medical people don't get compensated for their time but use donations.
What made me most sad is that a free clinic was set up in the United States.
People traveled hundreds of miles or walked to the clinic so they could get some medical help free. Why? Because they can't afford health insurance or the deductible is so high, $500 or more.
Who do we blame - the people, insurance companies, clinics, hospitals, the federal government? It's time for the elite class of people in Washington we elected to wake up and stand up for the lower middle class.
The United States is one of the richest nations. We should take care of citizens. I've been there. I know what it's like to struggle.
