Consumers will pay the price

I attended the Americans for Prosperity Hot Air Tour event at the Bismarck Community Bowl on June 23.

I've heard so much about this cap-and-trade, I wanted to learn firsthand about it. One thing that stuck in my head, and that absolutely cannot be rebutted, is that extra costs acquired by energy companies if cap-and-trade passes will be passed onto consumers. This means, without a doubt, energy costs for consumers will be higher. Much higher. This includes electricity bills, heat bills, water bills. etc.

Times are tough and the economy is struggling. Now is not the time to be adding unnecessary costs to citizens. North Dakota is going to be at the center of this battle with our thriving energy industry. Cap-and-trade will badly hurt North Dakota's economy and steal from the pocketbooks of every North Dakotan. I guess my next stop will be the tea party on July 2. We need to let our three guys in D.C. know that North Dakotans don't support cap-and-trade, and neither should they.
