Kevin Cramer, president of the Public Service Commission, said Monday he won't seek the Republican nomination for the U.S. House.

Cramer unsuccessfully ran twice for the House and he's been considering whether to make another run against Rep. Earl Pomeroy.

Cramer says he'd have to stop his involvement in a number of charitable and ministry organizations to be able to make a run for the House.

"I am touched by the interest and encouragement of many friends, old and new. I am flattered by the commitment of the Republican Party at all levels and grateful for the support they've expressed," Cramer said in his statement.

Cramer's term on the PSC is up next year, and his statement did not say whether he would seek another six-year term.
