A Bismarck man has been slated to stand trial in May for attempted murder.
Tyson Redstone, 19, maintained a not guilty plea to the Class A felony Monday at the Burleigh County Courthouse.
Redstone is accused of stabbing his mother's 36-year-old boyfriend in the chest during a fight in south Bismarck on Nov. 11.
According to a police report, the alleged victim began walking toward police who arrived at the scene with the knife still dangling from his shirt. He was taken to a local hospital, as was Redstone's 48-year-old mother, who had minor cuts. She was treated and released.
South Central District Judge Sonna Anderson said a two-day trial will be scheduled to begin May 6.
If convicted, Redstone could face up to 20 years in prison. He is out of jail upon posting a surety bond.
