An 18-year-old man remains in critical condition after a single-vehicle accident that killed 18-year-old Kyle Thomas, son of Jim Thomas of Minot and John and Sonia Grabar of 1501 Mutineer Place in Bismarck.
Nothing else is known about the condition of Tanner Glatt, son of David Glatt of 616 Regina Lane in Bismarck. Glatt is at Medcenter One.
The accident occurred around 4 a.m. Saturday.
Bismarck Police Department Lt. Dan Donlin said investigations show Thomas was driving the vehicle south on Riverwood Drive. He said the vehicle was traveling in excess of 70 mph in a 35 mph zone.
The vehicle veered to the right of the road, turned sideways and crossed the road. It then struck a wooden streetlight pole and a tree before catching fire.
Both men were thrown from the vehicle before it caught fire.
Donlin said he did not know if alcohol was a factor in the accident or if safety belts were used. The investigation is continuing.
