President Theodore Roosevelt's time in North Dakota as part of his journey to the White House will be the subject of a series of video and history presentations in January through March.

Sponsored by the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame and the North Dakota Humanities Council, the symposiums, called "TR, A Cowboy on His Way to the White House," will explore Roosevelt's time in the North Dakota Badlands. The events include video and history presentations as well as discussion.

Presenters include University of North Dakota history professor emeritus Jerome Tweton and Cowboy Hall of Fame director Darrell Dorgan.

Evening seminar begin at the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Medora on Jan. 14. They continue Jan. 15 at Williston State College, Feb. 4 at Rugby High School, Feb. 5 at the UND Student Union Lecture Bowl in Grand Forks, Feb. 18 at the Jamestown Arts Center, Feb. 25 at the Minot State University Student Union, Feb. 26 at MSU's Thatcher Hall in Bottineau, and March 19 at Bismarck State College.

All of the free programs begin at 7 p.m. The programs include a portion of a new documentary about Roosevelt's time in Dakota Territory, written and produced by Dorgan and premiering statewide on Prairie Public Television this winter.
