Burglars may have targeted the right bank to burglarize except for one thing - it wasn't a real bank.

The bank, the former First State Bank of McClusky, at Buckstop Junction was one of three buildings in the collection of historic buildings on the east side of Bismarck to be entered over the weekend, Bismarck Police Sgt. Mark Buschena said.

He said an employee found the door at the visitors' center at Buckstop Junction forced open and cash was stolen from inside. Damages totaled $95, and an undetermined amount of cash was stolen.

Doors at the bank and the Yegen Store at Buckstop Junction also were damaged, Buschena said.

The Burleigh County Extension office, 3715 E. Bismarck Expressway, also was burglarized over the weekend, Buschena said. He said cash was taken from inside the building, and there was no sign of forced entry.

Police believe the incidents may be related. They are under investigation.
