Seventy-one dogs had a day at the spa on Saturday for the third annual Rub-A-Dub Doggie Day.
Three dog washers and four people drying the dogs spent the entire day washing dogs to raise around $1,000 for the Central Dakota Humane Society in Mandan.
Jolene Clenmons, owner of Groomingdales in Mandan, provided the space and materials for the dog wash.
It helps out a lot of people because of the cost, and it is worth it for a lot of people compared to wrestling with their dogs at home to give them a bath, Clenmons said.
This year the going rate was $15 for large dogs and $10 for medium and small dogs.
Heading the fund-raiser was Colleen and Tara Garland, a mother-daughter duo. Colleen Garland started donating her time grooming the animals for the Humane Society in Mandan and thought this would be a good way to raise money for the nonprofit organization.
"We have a no kill view because every animal has a little soul," Colleen Garland said.
"It always seems that the perfect person shows up to take the animals home, even the ones that have been there a little longer."
Clenmons said she likes to help out with the fund-raiser. This year she donated the shampoo and leftover collars and leashes and food to the Humane Society.
Last year the group washed around 50 dogs, and they were happy to have washed more dogs this year.
"I hope even more people come next year, and the dogs really enjoy it, too," Colleen Garland said.
