Mandan police said they are still searching for the man who robbed the Starion Financial Bank on Friday.
Police also updated their description of the man on Saturday, saying he was wearing a zipped-up jacket with a hood attached to it or a hooded sweatshirt underneath the jacket.
Mandan Deputy Chief Paul Leingang said an officer spotted a man slowly driving a 2003 to 2005 Chevrolet Impala by the bank about 45 minutes before the robbery.
Leingang said police are not sure if the man driving the light gold or tan-colored car is responsible for the robbery, but they are asking for the public's help to identify him.
The first two letters of the Impala's license plate are "HS," Leingang said.
The man appeared to be about 30 years old.
"We don't know if it was just somebody who was cruising around or doing some pre-surveillance," Leingang said.
The Starion Financial Bank, 109 First Street N.W. in Mandan, was robbed at 5 p.m. on Friday when a man armed with a handgun walked into the bank and demanded money.
Tellers complied and gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash, which he put into a white plastic grocery bag, Leingang said. He left through the bank's north entrance.
The man is described as about six feet tall, weighing between 200 and 250 pounds. He was also wearing a black ski mask, lighter-colored blue jeans and dark-colored boots and gloves.
Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to call the Mandan Police Department at 667-3250.
