Severe storms moved through west-central North Dakota around 9 p.m. Saturday night, spawning a tornado in Morton County and hail throughout the area.
A tornado touched down near New Salem, damaging two farm properties but causing no injuries, according to early unofficial reports from law enforcement.
"The farms themselves had severe damage, but the homesteads were untouched," said Morton County Emergency Manager Tammy Lapp-Harris.
A tornado was also reported in Dickey County south of Jamestown along the South Dakota border. The Dickey County Sheriff's Department could not be immediately reached Saturday night for a damage assessment.
A funnel cloud formed north of Center near Stanton, but did not touch down as a tornado, according to the National Weather Service in Bismarck.
Earlier in the night, around 8 p.m., a funnel cloud formed in Oaks a town south of Jamestown near the South Dakota border.
"You could see the rotation with the black dirt, but it never touched down," said Dickey County Sheriff's Deputy Lance Kohlmeyer.
No injuries or damage were reported there.
