Close to 200 participants have volunteered to "serve" time between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday.
The volunteers will be in "jail" at the Bobcat Hockey Arena, where they will spend about an hour collecting any of their remaining $1,300 bail for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
"Jailbirds" are fined $1,300 bail because that is the cost of sending one child with a neuromuscular disease to summer camp for one week, according to Heather Stulken, program coordinator with MDA.
For more information or to participate in the Bismarck-Mandan Lock-Up, call the MDA district office at 235-1988.
