Alan and Fran Rodenburg have been chosen as Burleigh County's NDSU Harvest Bowl Honorees. The program recognizes agriculturists who are hard-working and dedicated in 53 counties in North Dakota and five in Minnesota.
North Dakota State University is the state's land-grant university, and as such, plays a role in contributing knowledge through research, academic programs and the extension service.
The university has recognized more than 1,800 agriculturists and more than $76,000 has been awarded in scholarships to NDSU student-athletes with agricultural backgrounds.
The Rodenburgs raise winter wheat, spring wheat, field peas, corn and sunflowers. They have received awards from the Burleigh County Soil Conservation District, Missouri Slope Maximum Economic Yield Club and Jaycees Outstanding Young Farmer Program.
The event included a Harvest Bowl dinner and an awards ceremony. Also, guests attended the Harvest Bowl football game between NDSU and Indiana State.
