A 22-year-old Mandan man and a 24-year-old Hazen man died at an accident scene after being ejected from a pickup that rolled when the driver failed to negotiate a curve northeast of Center shortly after midnight Saturday, according to a North Dakota Highway Patrol news release.
The pickup was carrying six people, ranging in age from 16 to 24.
The pickup's three other passengers and the driver were taken to St. Alexius Medical Center for treatment. Two of the injured passengers are from Center, and the driver and the other passenger are from Hazen.
The accident occurred at about 12:20 a.m. Saturday when the driver and his passengers, three males and two females, were heading north on a dirt road, 36th Avenue Southwest, and the driver failed to negotiate a right-hand curve, according to the news release.
The 2005 GMCpickup left the road and rolled, ejecting some of the unrestrained passengers. Two of the ejected passengers died at the scene.
Names are being withheld pending family notification. The crash is under investigation.
Center is in Oliver County, northwest of Bismarck.
