The Preservation North Dakota Honor Awards recognize outstanding achievements and excellence in historic preservation across the state of North Dakota.
Recipients are selected by the awards committee from a pool of nominations submitted by professionals and citizens from across the state.
The Preservation North Dakota 2008 Legacy Award recipients are Allan and Gail Lynch of Dunn Center for their efforts to preserve the Knife River Flint Quarries, an archeological site on their property.
The Preservation Excellence Award recipient is American Bank Center of Dickinson for its leadership in the preservation of downtown Dickinson.
The 2008 Artisan Award recipient is Craig Gallagher of St. Michael, Minn., for restoring the murals in several North Dakota courthouses, including the Dickey County Courthouse in Ellendale.
The Preservation North Dakota 2008 Bentley Award for "Volunteer of the Year" recipient is Mary Ann Duppong of Glen Ullin. She was chosen for her work in the preservation of St. Clement's Church.
The Preservation North Dakota 2008 Board Award was presented to Tom Isern of West Fargo. Isern is a professor of history at North Dakota State University and the longest-serving member of the board of directors.
