Hettinger - A charity golf tournament to benefit the West River Health Services' Centennial Addition will be held at 8 a.m. Sept. 8 at the Hettinger Country Club. The tournament will require a $25 entry fee, with a $10,000 hole-in-one payout.

Medora - The season's final weekend of "Medora, Madame de Mores," will be held at 11:30 a.m., and 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the chateau in Medora. Karen Nelson portrays Medora, for whom the Marquis de Mores named the western Badlands town in the 1880s. Performances are sponsored by the State Historical Society.

BOWMAN

Bowman - The annual Rural Women in America event will be held Sept. 14-15 at the 4 Seasons Pavilion in Bowman. This year's theme is "Women Helping Women," and will include 11 workshops, eight classes and a booth display.

DUNN

Dunn Center - The Dunn County Museum will hold its third annual "cream can supper" at 6 p.m. Saturday at the county museum in Dunn Center. The cans are layered with vegetables and Polish sausage and cooked on top of a propane stove. Eight cream cans will be loaded and cooked for the event. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Entertainment will be provided.

EMMONS

Linton - Richard Turner, a card cheat like no other, will put on public shows at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the old school gym in Linton. Tickets are $12 per person and seating is limited to the first 50 people. More shows may be scheduled Thursday morning if there is enough interest. Turner has performed on national television and venues such as the Magic Castle of Hollywood, Calif. Tickets are available at the Linton development office, or by calling 321-2440.

GOLDEN VALLEY

Beach - The Bijou Show Hall and the La Playa Mexican restaurant in Beach have teamed up to try a venture "Dinner and a Movie," that will feature dinner at the restaurant and an 8 p.m. movie at the theater. The dinner and movie nights will be available Fridays and Saturdays.

Carson - A public information meeting on a planned 6,000-sow operation by Hilltop Farms will be held at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday at the 4-H building in Carson.

HETTINGER

Mott - Mott's second annual Tractor Fest will be held Saturday with events, food and crafts, entertainment and a main parade of tractors to be held at 10:30 a.m. on Main Street. The Pedal Tractor Museum will be open all day and the day will end with fireworks downtown. Also, a communitywide, military support day will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 14 at the New England football field. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to wear red as a show of support.

Steele - A public cardio pulmonary resuscitation class will be held at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 29 at the Kidder County Ambulance Hall in Steele. The class will teach how to administer CPR to adults, children and infants and how to use an automatic external defibrillator. To register, call 475-2595.

Napoleon - The Logan County Weed Board will meet at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Logan County Courthouse commissioner's room in Napoleon.

Wishek - Wishek residents will vote Sept. 10 on whether to give its city council authority to develop 14 acres of land and improve the lots with paved streets, water and sewer and authority to levy a $.01 sales tax to pay the development costs. The tax would expire in 2017.

Watford City - A public information meeting on the Main Street improvement project will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Watford City Hall Heritage Room. This will be an opportunity for the public to both review the proposal and make comments.

Riverdale - A benefit fish fry will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Riverdale Golf Course for Donna Belisle, former Riverdale resident, who sustained a severe brain injury when she fell on the ice last winter. She has since undergone brain surgery and faces a long recovery.

New Town - The North Dakota Department of Commerce Tourism division will be at the Little Shell pow wow grounds behind the 4 Bears Casino and Lodge at 6 p.m. Wednesday to film dancers to use in television and other commercial advertising. The division is asking people who aren't dancers to show up at the pow wow grounds to fill in as spectators during the filming.

Amidon - The Slope County Farmers Fair and Rodeo will be held Friday through Sunday at the fairgrounds in Amidon. Fair events begin at 2 p.m. Friday and continue Saturday with 4-H exhibits and livestock shows. A rib cook-off supper will be served at 5 p.m. Saturday, followed by the performance of "Lifestyles of Slope County." The rodeo will start at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
