Police have received more reports of vehicle vandalisms from Thursday or Friday, bringing the total number of reports to near 50 and damages near $17,000.

The Bismarck Police Department had received 18 reports by early Friday morning, and 31 more reports came in later in the day, Lt. Randy Ziegler said. He said all 49 reports were of vehicle windows being broken or shattered, apparently by BBs.

Damages were estimated to be at least $3,600 in the first 18 reports, and the next 31 reports added approximately $13,100.

While the first reports that came in occurred mostly in southwest Bismarck, the vandalism wasn't confined to certain neighborhoods.

"They were all over the city," Ziegler said.

All of the instances appear to have occurred late at night on Thanksgiving or early in the morning the following day.

Ziegler said there were no witnesses in any of the 31 new reports. Several people said they heard glass breaking, but they did not see anything around the time of the vandalism.

In one of the original 18 reports, someone on the 100 block of East Rosser Avenue reported seeing three males running away from the area around 2:45 a.m. Friday.

Anyone with information about the vandalism should call the Bismarck Police Department at 223-1212 or Bismarck Area Crime Stoppers at 224-TIPS (224-8477).
