AHealth Professionals Talent Night is set for Saturday at the High Prairie Arts and Science Complex in Bismarck.
This first-time event will showcase the talents of doctors, nurses, dietitians and other health professionals who are sharing their artistic talents to raise money for the five anchor organizations at the High Prairie Arts and Science Complex near Bismarck State College.
The event, which begins at 7:30 p.m., includes an art display by health professionals and their spouses, a silent auction and a performance by the Suzuki School of Music.
Local performers volunteering their talents to perform musical and theatrical acts include The Cotton Wood Band, Joel Frank, Dr. Wayne and Lois Swenson, Sandra and Vance Krebs, Dr. Paul Jondahl, Karen VanFossan, Karen Ehrens, Dr. Todd Twogood, Dr. Kathy Perkerewicz, Dr. Sue Karen Wink, Dr. Tom Samson, Dr. James Lampman and Gayla Sherman. The contemporary singing group, Chenaniah Singers, also will be performing, as well as Dr. Lloyd and Becky Blake and Renae Hoggarth, a total of 28 local health providers from various medical backgrounds.
Visual artists displaying artwork include Michelle Lindblom, Franci Heinle, Lydia Richez-Bowman, Robert Fenstermacker, Charles Hall Youth Services and Dr. Curt Juhala. In addition, Theo Art School students will be creating pieces throughout the evening.
Master of ceremonies for the evening is James Cooper, president and CEO of Medcenter One Health Systems.
"The idea is that Bismarck is burgeoning with art," says Jennifer Haaland, director of the High Prairie Arts and Science Complex. "Many who are making a living in other professions, like healthcare, are artists at heart and make the community the richer for it. The event is aimed at increasing arts awareness, involvement and appreciation in the greater Bismarck area."
Proceeds from the evening will benefit children's programming of the five organizations located within the complex - Central Dakota Children's Choir, Gateway to Science, Shade Tree Players, Theo Art School and Suzuki School of Music.
The public is invited to attend this event. Tickets are $15 per person and are available at Herberger's, Eckroth Music and online at www.highprairiecomplex.com. Support also has come from the N.D.
