MAX (AP) - Three ethanol tanker cars from a Canadian Pacific Railway train derailed but they did not rupture and their contents did not spill, the Highway Patrol says.
No injuries or property damage was reported from the Saturday derailment, about two miles east of Max.
Authorities said the train had four engines, 40 loaded grain cars and 15 loaded ethanol tanker cars. Three of the tanker cars derailed completely and two others partially derailed, the patrol said.
The train had been traveling about 10 mph, and stopped immediately after the derailment, the patrol said. The cause was under investigation.
