A man has been charged with disorderlt conduct and jailed him after he jumped off a Missouri bridge twice.
Sean Schaefer, 27, of Mandan, had an initial blood alcohol level of 0.443 when the Highway Patrol arrested him at 5:19 p.m. on Sunday.
Sgt. Normal Ruud, of the patrol, said Schaefer had been drinking for several hours at a bar on the Mandan side of the river.
Once intoxicated, Schaefer jumped off the west end of the bridge into the river between Bismarck and Mandan. He then swam ashore, jumped again and returned to the bar.
Rudd said it appeared Schaefer was not attempting to harm himself, but was jumping "just for kicks."
Schaefer was identified by witnesses and taken to Morton County jail. Disorderly conduct is a misdemeanor.
