Century Baptist Church broke ground Sunday for an expansion project to its current building at 205 Colt Ave. in Bismarck.
Construction on the project is expected to begin at the end of April.
The congregation has been in an intense planning process for several years, said senior pastor, the Rev. Gordon Storck.
Education space was filled and the church was up to having three Sunday services for its 600-plus congregation, Storck said.
The planning process for the congregation's future role in the city and the region will continue for the next two to five years, he said.
