The Missouri River has become a favorite place for locals to spend hot summer days.

On most summer weekends, sun and boat lovers fill the area from a few miles north of Grant Marsh Bridge to a few miles south of the Expressway Bridge.

Farther south and north there are anglers and campers, but the pressure on the five-or-so mile stretch of river around Bismarck-Mandan is intense.

The Tribune wants readers to tell the story of the river around the area through images. We hope to see all angles of the story - people having fun, the damage they might do, the efforts by others to clean up or protect the river.

For this project, the river is divided into six sections. Submit your photos or videos with a brief description and the number of the area closest to where it was taken. After we have received enough images we will create photo slideshows.

Photos and videos must be submitted electronically. Videos should be no larger than 6MB and less than two minutes long.
