Kenton and Bobby Jo Holle and their family, the owners and operators of Northern Lights Dairy, along with members of the North Dakota Dairy Coalition, will host the public.
The on-the-farm experience is scheduled for 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday on the Holle dairy farm, located just south of Mandan.
The event will feature a free breakfast. Guided tours of the facility and the farm's rotary milking parlor will be provided. There will be educational displays, guessing games with prizes, and hands-on activities and small gifts for the children. A short program featuring comments from officials representing the governor's office and the North Dakota Department of Agriculture will be held under the tent at 11:30 a.m. The state dairy princess, Karissa Brobst of Medina, will be present.
Directions to the farm: 14 miles south of Mandan on Highway 6. Turn west on 54th Street for ½ mile; the dairy is on the right-hand side of the road. There will be a sign indicating you have reached Northern Lights Dairy.
